Being in first grade...
...is such an important year for your child! It is a turning point in his/her education where letters and sounds come together to help him/her read and write fluently. You will notice your child developing personal interests and expanding curiosity more so than normal. First grade is an exciting time where your student will be given more responsibilities in establishing work habits, managing his/her own behavior, and solving social differences. You can expect your child to work and play hard as we learn and grow together.

About Mrs. Kliethermes
My name is Joanna Kliethermes. This will be my 7th year of teaching. I have taught 5 years as a 1st grade teacher at Russellville and 1 year as a 4th grade teacher here at Prairie Home. I live in California. My husband and I have been married 3 years and we have a beautiful 2 year old son. I am originally from Warrensburg, MO. I received my Bachelor's in Elementary Education from Missouri State in Springfield and a Master's degree in Reading Education from the University of Missouri. I enjoy reading and watching movies as well as family time, cooking, and spending as much time outside as possible. I love children and make it my personal goal to always treat your son or daughter the way that I would want someone to treat my own child.
